Meet the man who made the impossible, possible─ Paen Long, 30, a car mechanic who is currently living in Prey Veng province, Cambodia.
According to the BBC News, Mr. Paen Long has always dreamed of having his own plane ever since he was young; however, it wasn’t until last year that his childhood fantasy had taken over him and further pushed him to start working on his plane-building.
After spending three years watching videos on YouTube, Mr. Long recreated his plane based on the design of the Japanese plane used during World War II, and it took him almost a year to entirely assembling all pieces, in which mostly are recycled materials, together.
He actually launched his first plane on March 8th, but unfortunately, it crashed to the ground after reaching 50 meters of height, getting laughter from hundreds of villagers who went there to watch his testing.
However, Mr. Long didn’t give up as he now is starting his new project on building a seaplane, making it light enough to soar up in the sky. Additionally, he also plans to transport his seaplane by truck to Svay Rieng and launch it from Waiko River once he finishes the work.
Let’s hope that his new project would yield to a successful outcome!
