Banks and Micro-Finances Required to Change Their Logos
Government deals with the public confusion by demanding a logo change of the bank and other micro-finance institute.
For many years, many Cambodian people has confused that the bank, especially The Acleda Bank Plc, belongs to the royal government of Cambodia but Acleda also declared itself as a private-owned institution, According to the statement posted on Acleda bank’s official Facebook page.
After this Declaration, the confusion still remains. To deal with this public confusion, the government demands a sudden logo change of Acleda Bank Plc because the logo itself is similar to the current logo used by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

PHNOM PENH- Government deals with the public confusion by demanding a logo change of the bank and other micro-finance institute.
For many years, many Cambodian people has confused that the bank, especially The Acleda Bank Plc, belongs to the royal government of Cambodia but Acleda also declared itself as a private-owned institution, According to the statement posted on Acleda bank’s official Facebook page.
After this Declaration, the confusion still remains. To deal with this public confusion, the government demands a sudden logo change of Acleda Bank Plc because the logo itself is similar to the current logo used by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Not so long after the announcement of this change, Acleda Bank Plc has now changed its logo in accordance to what the government demanded. The changing of the new logo is reported that cost around $3.5 million, including the changing of bank card and ATM card.
Following this Acleda Bank logo changing, the government has also demanded another logo change of Microfinance institute (MFI) “Prasac”. The reason is the same with the previous one.

In Prasac case, its logo which represents a three-fold riel is similar to the logo used by state institute. Prasac has now changed its current logo to a new one as well. According to the recent news reported by Freshnews, at least 13 Banks and other 37 micro-finance institutions are changing their current logo to a new one as soon as possible.
This is what the government has done to stop the public confusion because private bank and micro finance are 100 percent not belong to the state.
The logo changing is probably the most talked issue right now. Netizens are waiting for the next Bank or Micro finance institute to change its logo because they see similarities between those private owned institute and the states institute.
