Kratie- It’s such a heartbreaking story, after Mr. Le Sokleng, a river guard of the Fisheries Administartion, died on Sunday night 24th July 2016, in a big storm in the Mekong river, near Sandan Village about 10kilometers away from Kampi pool, according to a statement posted on WWF-Cambodia official Facebook page.
Mr. Le Sokleng, 32, has a wife and 2 children, met an accident caused by a big storm in the Mekong river, while he was patrolling. His body was found on Tuesday morning 26th July 2016, 1 kilometer away from where the accident took place, and after 1day searching operation for him.
Furthermore, WWF-Cambodia has stated in their statement, “We express our deepest condolences to his family. He was a hero fighting for the sake of the river dolphins and for Cambodians natural treasures. Moreover, two of his colleagues, that were on the same boat, got seriously injured. We wish them to get better soon!
