Budget Gets from Fining on the Roads, Is more than 13 Billion Riels

Phnom Penh- In the first seven month of 2016, authorities can get budget from implementing new traffic law in total 13,223,264,000 riels, according to the report of National Committee of Safety Land Route.

The report has been revealed in the conference of Supervision about new Traffic Law Implementation 2016, Police has fined all kind of transportations in total 57,072 including vehicles 33%, and motorbike 67%. And from 1^st January 2016 until 31^st July 2016, the budget gets from the fining is 13,223,264,000 riels.

Authorities also checked all kinds of transportations in total 864,542, 63% is motorbike. And found 101,412 among the total was breached a law, over-speed was 5,387, and the driver under alcohol was 487 (29 were send to the court). Besides that, authorities also educates 44,340 to understand and obey the new traffic law.

The new traffic law has been implemented since 1^st January 2016, and it is stricter than before in order to protect Cambodian people from traffic accident.
