Cambodia-Bangladesh to Sign First Agreement on Labor and Vocational Training
Minister of Labor and Vocational Training Ith Sam Heng met with Bangladeshi Ambassador to Thailand, Saida Muna Tasneem on August 17, 2016 at the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training for discussions that focused on joint efforts towards the signing of an agreement on strengthening and expanding labor cooperation between the two countries.
The minister said after the meeting that this first discussion meeting was fruitful with regard to the labor issues and vocational training. Besides, Cambodia and Bangladesh were also interested in seeing further cooperation between the two countries in the sectors of agriculture, industry and garment and that the two countries are to form a technical working group to work on the issues before an agreement could be signed.

“Cambodia and Bangladesh share a lot of commonality since both are developing countries with similar economies and garment industries are also not much different,” the minister said.
