Cambodia Launches the First Satellite in 2021

During Gauge Market Demand workshop, which took place in Bangkok, Mr. Im Vutha, the spokesman for Telecom Regulator of Cambodia (TRC), has introduced the first ever Satellite launching by 2021.
This workshop brought together representatives of Ministry Post and Telecom (MoPT), Telecom Regulator of Cambodia (TRC), and technology sectors to discuss about the launching first satellite in Cambodia.

In accordance with local news, Royal Group’s subsidiary, Royal Blue Skies, in collaboration with Beijing-based China, Great Wall Industry Corporation are responsible for conducting the feasibility studies on the project within a year. It is scheduled to launch into the orbit in the early of 2021, at an estimated cost of USD 150 million.
“Of course, the satellite is a very costly project, so we are seeking all the input we can get from relevant stakeholders, so that we might know how much demand is and how much we should invest,” Mr Vutha said.
