Cambodia needs 10,000 guides for welcoming the big amount of tourists in 2020

Phnom Penh- H.E Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, in afternoon 14^th July 2016 stated about the vital target that the Ministry of Tourism needs many guides to interpret and accompany about 10,000 tourists, to respond the demanding of increasing certain number of tourists in the next 2020. Recently, guide position has been occupied about 4,000 places, and about only 500 can speak Chinese.

In the conference about report on the 2015 and First semester of 2016 Tourism Stocktaking, and the Second Semester of 2016 and 2017 Direction-Setting, H.E Thong Khon told reporters that, there are many vital affairs for Cambodia to prepare himself welcoming the higher amount of tourists, especially Chinese tourists, such as arranging the town called “China Town”, shopping mall, Hotel, in order to make them feel warm and full of trust.

The Minister also supports to all institutes and schools, which training the Chinese language skill, including Khong Cheu institute, and Toun Fa school. Furthermore, the ministry also encouraged to the participant who knows Chinese well to take part in a competition.

H.E Thong Khon also added that, for Chinese tourists, Cambodia authorities have broadcasted to them more enough but there is another one problem that we must organize for them, is to insert the Chinese language to phone system, to make it easy for them to find tourist sites and also to point straight for other problems. Besides that, The Ministry of Tourism has created the website system in Chinese.

However, H.E Thong Khon appealed to all related partner from Hotel and Guest House for organizing the internet services (WIFI) to be better and faster, to serve all tourists. In the conference, H.E Thong Khon also giving medals and honors to 79 ministers, who have done well and be active to develop the tourism field.
