Cambodian People Share Their Condolences Over The Death of Thai King

Phnom Penh- Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej has died at the age of 88, the Bureau of Royal Household said on Thurday.

His majesty passed away peacefully at 3:52pm on Thursday at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok, according to the statement released by the bureau.

Related to the death of Thai King, Cambodian people expressed their feeling on social media to share condolences with the king family and Thai people. Some of them said, “In the name of Cambodian people, we are really sorry to hear this kind of information. We are the same to Thai people, for mourning death of Thai King”.

King Bhumibol Adulyadej, is the ninth king of the Chakri Dynasty, and he ascended to the throne when he was 19 and was the world’s longest-reigning monarch.

The Thai government ordered all official buildings, state-owned enterprises and schools to fly a half-mast flag for 30 days since Friday and announced a one-year mourning period.

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha said Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn will be the next king under the constitution.
