Cambodia’s First Sailing Club Is Officially Here

Exciting news! The very first sailing club in Cambodia has now officially launched in Kep Province.

A lifestyle resort in Kep, Knai Bang Chatt, in collaboration with the Cambodia Sailing Federation (CSF), is now offering sailing courses to local citizens, expats, as well as international guests. Readily equipped with newly purchased sailing boats such as Optimist, Hobie Wave, Hobie 16, and T2, this sailing club will be following the guidelines and practices of the Royal Yacht Club Association, in which will provide fully-trained sailing instructors that have undertaken extensive courses and are under the supervision and requirements of Cambodia Sailing Federation (CSF).

First sailing club is now available in Cambodia

The long term plan of opening Cambodia’s first ever sailing club is to introduce the sport of sailing to Cambodian youths and aim to encourage them with aspirations, commitments, and passions to compete in the future international level tournaments, sporting events such as the upcoming 29th

SEA Games that will be held in Malaysia from August 19th-31st, 2017 and the 32th SEA Games in 2023 that will be hosting by Cambodia.

His Excellency Dr. Thong Khon, Cambodia’s Minister of Tourism and President of the Cambodian National Olympic Committee (NOCC), has also emphasized the importance of sailing and further urged the Cambodians to give it a try, as it promotes good health and it is also a pride for the nation to have this kind of sport.
