Canada Funds $130K to Cambodia To Support Mine Clearance Sector
Canada has funded USD 130,000 to support the demining activities, which are conducted by Cambodia Mine Action Center (CMAC).
With the support from the Cambodian government and other countries around the world, CMAC has conducted demining action long time ago in order to remove the remaining mines and other explosive devices, which are still hidden in some rural areas.
The fund is coming after a meeting, which was held between Senior Minister Ly Thuch, the Secretary-general of the CMAC Authority, and Allison Stewart, Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Canada.
Phnom Penh- Canada has funded USD 130,000 to support the demining activities, which are conducted by Cambodia Mine Action Center (CMAC).

The fund is coming after a meeting, which was held between Senior Minister Ly Thuch, the Secretary-general of the CMAC Authority, and Allison Stewart, Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Canada.
“This is another step that Canada has taken to support Cambodia after the break in the last few years,” said H.E. Ly Thuch.
Moreover, the Prime Minister of Cambodia expressed his deep gratitude to Canada for supporting Cambodia’s mine clearance sector since the past.
CMAC is Cambodia’s leading demining organization, working in the key areas of Survey and Land Release, Mine and UXO Clearance, Mine and UXO Risk Education and Training, Research and Development.
