Chaktomuk Short Film Festival Held Press Conference For Its Upcoming Special Event
Kon Khmer Koun Khmer, in collaboration with Outsources, held a press conference of Chaktomuk Short Film Festival (CSFF) 2017 on June 30th, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:O0 p.m. at Bophana Center.
There are several speakers from different sectors of the film industry were invited to this event, including H.E Chea Chan Boribo, Secretary of State for Ministry of Information, Mr. Chea Sopheap, Director and Representative of Bophana Center, Mr. Sum Sithen, CSFF Adviser and 4K General Representativ, Mr. Chea Sokhy (Billl), CSFF Director and Outsources Operation Director, and Mr. Sao Sokny, Managing Director of Major Cineplex.

This is the 6th Chaktomuk Short Film Festival, which is organized in Phnom Penh with the support from big influencers in movie sectors such as Legend Cinemas, Major Cineplex by Cellcard, Jaikon, JaiKonTV, myTV, Bophana Center, and other companies.
H.E. Chea Chan Boribo, Secretary of State for Ministry of Information, said that, “I can see the improving of movie industry in Cambodia. And yes, this festival is really amazing, it can give chances and technical in making film to Cambodian, especially teenagers. Absolutely, making good short film leads you to make a effective film with better quality. Moreover, those who join the festival can get concepts in making film”.
He added, “With the high technology, people can make film easily, especially short film. They can even make film by phone with high resolution. However, they still need a good concept, before they are going to make a film. And this festival will train people how to have a good concept to make a better film. It’s really good”.

Chaktomuk Short Film Festival (CSFF) 2017 will take place on 25th to 30th October 2017. All submitted films are not limited the topic except commercial and music video. All short films have to be at least 5 minutes and maximum 25 minutes. For this year’s prize winner, USD 1000 and other prizes will be awarded.
However, the deadline of submitting film will be delayed until the 15th of August, so for those who hasn’t submitted their film, please be hurry to do it. Up to now, 3030 international films from 112 countries and 19 Khmer movies are submitted to CSFF already, according to Mr. Chea Sokhy, CSFF Director and Outsources Operation Director.
In addition to the Film Festival, the festival will include short training course called Chaktomuk Master Class starting from 21st to 23rd and 28th to 30 Julyth 2017. There will be 10days FilmCamp, which will take place from August 25 to September 3 in Battambang province that will provide both theory and field shooting skills to participants with result in making 6 short films from 6 teams.
