A Charity Trip To Protect and Conserve Old Pagoda and Temples Needs Your Participation
Toul Preah Sreypichey Sovong Kampong Preah is an old pagoda, which stands more than hundred years on a traditional hill of Kompang Preahprop temple, Kopong Preah village, Chnuktrue commune, Boribo district, Kompong Chnang province.
Recently, there is a group of volunteer formed by teenagers, aim to create a project for fundraising in order to protect old traditional Kampong Preah pagoda building, which is very old and about to collapse from day to day.

Recently, there is a group of volunteer formed by teenagers, aim to create a project for fundraising in order to protect old traditional Kampong Preah pagoda building, which is very old and about to collapse from day to day.

According to Srin Sokmean, 24, the founder of Facebook page called “Amazing Cambodia”, and the member of the group said that, “The project also gives a chance for Khmer next generation architects to have a study trip for observing how a special feature of traditional Buddhism architecture building was built for a long time ago”.
He added, “Actually, the pagoda and other two temples are really precious. That’s the reason makes us to create a fundraising to repair those damaged parts of the pagoda. After we discussed with the community and monks, we found out that we need around 2,000 USD for supporting the restoration”.
The group plans to bring the fundraising to the pagoda’s committees on Sunday, 13th August 2017, by holding an event with the presences of many local guests, authorities, the department of Ministry of Culture, the pagoda’s committees, Ms. Marinet, the actress from “The Last Reel”, students from universities in Phnom Penh, and also the local communities under the theme of “One Visit, One Witness, One Donation”.

The event will include important activities such as visiting around the traditional pagoda and temples with the professional tourist guides, eating unlimited Khmer noodle, giving gift for poor children, riding boats and seeing the surface village, understanding about the Khmer jar handicraft products, seeing the Khmer traditional dance by the representative from Kompong Chnang province, and the special show from Ms. Romdoul LechTek with ther special creative traditional dress.
If you want to be a part of the project and also want to protect the precious things of Cambodia, you can pay only $30 that include for all expanding during the trip. The profit from this program is 100% sure going to the pagoda’s committees and the community, who are in need.
