China aids 600 million USD for 3-year development in Cambodia
Chinese Government aided $600 million to Cambodia for three-year development, starting from 2016 to 2018, while EU and US threatened to stop aiding Cambodia. The announcement was made during the meeting between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang in Mongol during 9th Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting (ASEP9) on July 15, 2016.
The premier wrote on his Facebook Page, “I met with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang to strengthen regional and international Cambodia-China cooperation which both parties take into consideration. The Chinese premier promised to aid Cambodia with 3,600 million Yuan an equivalent to 600 million USD for three years, 2016-2018.”

China also approved the PM Hun Sen’s request on budget to process national election, health, education, clean water and irrigation which benefit Cambodian people nationwide, according to the same source.
China has become the top aid for the development in Cambodia, while EU and US are to stop aiding or grant aid with specific conditions.
