Chinese Top on Foreign Tourists Arrivals in Cambodia
Chinese is tapped as top of foreign tourists arrivals in Cambodia in 2016, according to a government report seen Wednesday.
The report showed that 670,000 Chinese tourists visited Angkor Wat temple complex in 2016, making Chinese the prime visitors, an increase of 30% compared to 2015, and followed by S. Korean and American, at 250,000 and 150,000 tourists respectively.

The report showed that 670,000 Chinese tourists visited Angkor Wat temple complex in 2016, making Chinese the prime visitors, an increase of 30% compared to 2015, and followed by S. Korean and American, at 250,000 and 150,000 tourists respectively.
In 2016, two million foreign tourists visited Angkor Wat Temple and the revenue from ticket sales were about $70 million, an increase of 4.2% compared to 2015.
Currently, there are three types of tickets sales to Angkor, for a one-day visit costing $20; 3-day visit costing $40 and 7-day visit costing $60.
However, from Feb 1, 2017, the ticket fee will increase to $37 for a one-day visit, 3-day visit is $62 valid for up to 10 days and 7-day visit costing $72 valid for up to 30 days. $2 from each ticket sold to each foreigner will be kept as donation to Kuntha Bopha hospital.
