Commemorating UN Day with a New Khmer Mobile App “CSDGs”

Phnom Penh- On October 24^th, the Institute of Technology of Cambodia had hosted a special event for United Nations Day, with honorable guests such as HE Hang Choun Naron; the Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, H.E Chhay Than; Minister of Ministry of Planning, Mrs. Anne Lemaistre; Head of UNESCO, and Mr. Thomas Hundt, CEO of Smart Axiata.

With the event attracting both local and international audiences, the 17 goals of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) were reminded to which Cambodia has one more goal which is “Eradicating Land Mines”.

In addition, a discussion on Technovation, a 12-week challenge that is the world’s largest social entrepreneurship program for young women ages 10-18 was raised, to which the Cambodian team has made the top 12.

In addition to commemorate UN Day, a mobile app was launched which was called “CSDGs (Cambodia’s Sustainable Development Goals)”. Now, SDGs will be further recognized among Cambodian youths since the application is in both Khmer and English and is available to download through AppStore and Google Play. With the launching of this application, the 17 SDGs will advance with more ease.
