CWEA Provides Additional Support to Female Entrepreneurs in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH – Cambodian female entrepreneurs gain extra support from American Chamber of Commerce of Cambodia (AmCham).  

CWEA is a private association representing women in business. Its mission is to bring issues to the attention of the government and the media to foster women involvement in business activities, as well as to open up networking opportunities for businesswomen.

PHNOM PENH – Cambodian female entrepreneurs gain extra support from American Chamber of Commerce of Cambodia (AmCham).

CWEA is a private association representing women in business. Its mission is to bring issues to the attention of the government and the media to foster women involvement in business activities, as well as to open up networking opportunities for businesswomen.

In an effort to provide extra support to female entrepreneurs in Cambodia, AmCham has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Cambodian Women’s Entrepreneurial Association (CWEA) on Thursday, 18th January 2018.

Amcham’s President Charles Esterhoy said the purpose of this new agreement between the two organizations is to address the needs of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in order to improve these businesses’ capacities “regardless of which gender is the owner or operator”, according to local reports.

While United States Ambassador to Cambodia, William Heidt, said the new agreement would work on reducing the obstacles or challenges upon entering the business world that female entrepreneurs are facing.

“This partnership will bring committed players together through a shared vision of empowerment, where men and women have equal access to the market,” she said.


CWEA is representing Women in Business, newest influence and fastest growing impact on employment and economy of the country”.
