Events and Festivals Likely to Happen This March in Cambodia

Phnom Penh- March is already here, and we have known that there are many events and festivals to be held during this month.

Here are the events that Camsocial has already listed and published:

1. The Sihanouk Ville International Half Marathon is going to hit the beach fronts this Sunday. With the purpose of running for protecting the nature, saving the globe, and the well-being of mankind, the Cambodian Marathon Committee is organizing the event on Sunday, the 5^th of March, at Ochheuteal Beach, Sihanouk Ville.

Many people including foreigners are expected to join this event.

2. One of the biggest and most interesting food festival “Slaprea” will be held on the 4^th and 5^th of March, at Olympic stadium, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. There will be many delicious street foods, which is the maximum range in price is 3 USD.

It is the interesting festival, especially for food lovers.

3. “Theater performance” by remaking one of the popular Khmer fiction novels called “Driver Horm”, to perform on the 19^th of March. The performance will be organized in order to promote Khmer’s glorious arts and cultures, especially among the younger generations.

4. The soft opening of a new digital cinema in Cambodia. “Prime Cineplex” a new brand cinema from South Korea, will be operated at the 4^th and 5^th floor of Sovanna Shopping Center, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

People can enjoy free movies, during the soft opening day, which is on the 6^th of March.

5. One of the most awaiting events in March, “Bopea Music Festival 2” will be held on the 4^th of March, at Phnom Penh City Center, from 4pm until 9pm.

The festival is organized under the theme of “Orginal Songs, Bands, and EDM Concer”. There will be original, acoustic, and band performances, which performing by various prominent local artists, and an EDM concert, by EDM Cambodia as the finale of the festival.

Thousands of people are expected to join this festival.

6. The largest film festival in Cambodia for 2017. “Cambodia International Film Festival” (CIFF) will be held for 6 days, which starts from the 4^th until 9^th of March, with featuring more than 160 screenings including international and Khmer movies.

The screenings will be at all major theaters in Phnom Penh, and outdoor venue “Koh Pich”. Thousands of people are expected to join this festival.

7. “ASEAN Plus 3” festival, which will be held in Phnom Penh, on the 11^th of March 2017. The event will start from 8am to 5pm, which will guide Cambodian youths into understanding more about the diversity of cultures, identity, developments, political and economic sectors between ASEAN and its 3 dialogue partners (Japan, China, and South Korea) through various forms of shows and activities.

Many people, especially students are expected to join this event.

8. The amazing Angkor Wat Selfie photo contest called “Selfie, The Phenomenon of Angkor Wat Temple”. The event will be held, during the Equinox is likely to happen, which starts from 5am to 7am in the morning on 20^th and 21^st of March.

“Equinox” is the condition when the sun will rise upon the middle summit of Angkor Wat Temple. Thousands of people are expected to join this event.
