First Swimming Dock in Kompong Cham Is Now Open For Public

The newly-constructed swimming dock in Kompong Cham has gained a lot of attention and has been attracting citizens of all ages to go and enjoy swimming there.

Floating on the surface of Mekong River, the dock is about 22 meters in width and 60 meters in length, which locates near Kizuna Bridge, one of the most well-known bridges in Cambodia.

Mr. Chhor Heng, 47, the mastermind behind this creative innovation, has been dreaming of establishing a swimming dock over the Mekong River for years. In addition to that, because of the love and passion he has for swimming, it has led him into saving up bit by bit and now, his dream has eventually become into reality.

He also added that, “if the place becomes successful with overwhelming support from the public, I might be constructing another swimming dock in the upcoming 2018.”

This new swimming dock has become one of the highly-recommended places for local people to come swimming, relaxing with their family, and also enjoying the cool river breeze at the same time. The entrance fee for the locals are only 4,000 riels, and 8,000 riels for foreigners, and there are safeguards to protect and ensure the safety for swimmers as well.
