Phnom Penh─ Apparently, passports are being used frequently by many people on a daily basis, but not all of them have known a lot regarding the passports, especially when it comes to obtain a visa.
Recently, Passport Index, a real time global ranking of passports, has just updated the information that are relevant to all of the passports around the world, and of course, Cambodian passport also features in it as well. Passport Index is considered to be one of the world’s most popular online interactive tool, in which collects, displays, and ranks the passports of the world.
According to the Passport Index, Cambodian passport receives a 49 visa-free score, which means that Cambodian passport holders can travel to 49 countries without a visa or with visa on arrival. The list of those countries includes the other nine members of ASEAN, Egypt, Iran, Kenya, Kuwait, Macao, Maldives and many more.
Furthermore, based on the visa-free score, Cambodia ranks at 78th globally, above Laos and Myanmar, which ranks at 79th and 84th respectively. However, for the individual rank based on individual country and visa characteristics, Cambodia stands at 165th.
Surprisingly, Cambodia claims the top rank of Passport Index’s “Welcoming Countries Rank”, along with other 13 nations, as the most welcoming with a score of 198. Thus, it means that Cambodia accepts 198 passports from all around the world, with visa on arrival, visa-free, and electronic visas (eTAs).
