29 Jul – After the hype of the movie's pre-screening in Cambodia last Wednesday, movie fans have been looking forward to catching "Ghostbusters" in local cinemas.
So it comes as no surprise that the all-female reboot of the '80s comedy movie has been receiving positive reviews from fans after it was officially released here on 28 July,
Most audience members rate the movie between from 8.5/10 to 10/10 after watching, which is a given since the halls are always filled with laughter and even applause during the screenings. The scenes that get the loudest applause often involve Chris Hemsworth and Melissa McCarthy, whom fans find very funny indeed.
The movie was embroiled in controversy when it was first announced that a female-led reboot was in the making. However, it seems like "Ghostbusters" is doing just fine now, with mostly positive reviews pouring in after its release. A quick check on social media after the movie's release shows just how popular it's become with fans.
One fan, Jean Go, commented, "Simply AMAZING, if you like a funny movie with a scary sense or you feel like watching a scary movie but you want to laugh instead? This is the perfect match, "Ghostbusters" is one of the best ghost movies this mid-year."
"I rate 10/10. I never ever saw this kind of movie before, it's absolutely very fantastic with incredible modern science," said another fan, Blo XoBin. "I was laughing so hard from the beginning of the movie to the end. Most of the ghosts are cute…"
"Ghostbusters", directed by Paul Feig, stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate MacKinnon and Leslie Jones as the four ghost busters who have to save their city from an evil demon.
Chris Hemsworth plays their funny receptionist, Kevin Beckman, while cast members of the original franchise, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson, appear in cameo roles.
