GoGo Cambodia has recently launched a campaign that aims to set another Guinness World Record for Cambodia. So, what exactly is this new campaign that got everyone talking about here and there? Apparently, the campaign is about producing the longest Cambodian krama ever, and that in order to set the world record, the Krama need to be weaved up to the length of 1,000 meters.

More details regarding the campaign has yet to be revealed; however, it is known that the official attempt to set the record will actually start next month, on February 14, at the open square of Veal Preah Mehru, which is to the North of the Royal Palace, and it is open to public. Thus, everyone is highly encouraged and welcomed to join in the campaign together. Weaving a 1,000-meters Krama is not an easy task, but it is not impossible as well if we all can unite and work together.
The campaign will not only help Cambodia to achieve an achievement in the international stage, but also a great opportunity in pushing for citizens’ participation to involve more in the society. Cambodia has so far hold several Guinness World Records including the largest Madison dance (2015 people), the largest sticky rice cake (4 tons), the longest alphabets (74 letters), the largest religious structure (Angkor Wat), and so on.
Krama is a sturdy traditional Cambodian garment with many uses, including as a scarf, bandanna, to cover the face, for decorative purposes, and as a hammock for children. It may also be used as a form of weaponry.
