“Malys Angkor” Becomes Cambodia’s Premium Rice Brand Name
Phnom Penh- The top brand for Cambodian premium rice goes to “Malys Angkor” as it was officially announced during the Cambodia Rice Forum by the Cambodian Rice Federation (CRF), Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
According to the CRF, several brands will be under the name of Malys Angkor as premium rice such as Somaly, Jasmine, Phka Romdoul, Phka Chansensor, Pkha Romeat, Pkha Khnei, and Pkha Romdeng.
Since each company uses its own name and logo for exports, Cambodia for the first time has its own rice brand name as “Malys Angkor” to certify the quality and standards of Cambodian rice to which it is said to be essential to the country’s brand name and reputation, according to Sok Puthyvuth, President of the CRF.

Cambodia exports rice to more than 60 international markets with more than 630,000 tons of milled rice being exported in 2017 with increase of exports from year to year. It is these numbers that shows the key to being recognized on the international market with this newly formed brand name.
