Minister of Economy and Finance: Economic Growth in Cambodia is on its way to achieve 7.1% in 2016

Phnom Penh – H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth, Senior Minister, Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia, gave his statement on the situation of the economy growth in Cambodia, which already achieved around 7% in 2015. Additionally, due to the economic growth forecasting in 2016, approximately 7.1% will be also achieved.
From strong optimism of forecasting from the minister, which also allows Ms.Victoria Kwakwa, Vice President for East Asia Pacific, to discuss for further affairs on July 5th, 2016 at Ministry of Economy and Finance, according to the official announcement.
“The future vision of Cambodia is still in the positive condition, which means the country economy is expected to grow in average to 7% a year. This growth will allow the annual income of the population (Per Capital Income) to increase from USD 1,042.00 (in 2013) to USD 1,215.00 (in 2015).” Said H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth.
Adding to his statement, even though the economy seems to be in a better condition, Cambodia will continue to improve the stability of the economy to prevent any consequence that affected from slow economic growth in China, as well as, the crisis of Brexit from EU recently.
