Number of tourists visit Cambodia by flight is increasing in the 1st semester of 2016

Phnom Penh- Number of tourists come to visit in Cambodia by flight is increasing 5.4% in the first 5months of 2016, while the number of tourists who travelling on land is reducing 1%, according to the 1^st semester report which was broadcasted recently by the Ministry of Tourism.

The report also stated that, in the 1^st 5 months of 2015, the number of international tourists who travel to Cambodia by flight is 1, 075, 945, and from January to May in 2016, the number is increasing 5.4% in total 1, 133, 940 tourists.

H.E Thong Khon, The Minister of Tourism, said on 14^th July 2016, Cambodia has just prepared communication in direct flight with many countries such as, China (34 direct flight in a day) and also Asian countries excluding Indonesia. Likewise, there are also many countries that we are communicating and pushing in this affair”.

The increasing of 5.4% of tourists visit Cambodia, there are 1, 133, 940 come through Phnom Penh Internation Airport, 472, 072 come through Siem Reap Airport, and 659, 503 come through Korng Keng Airport (Sihanouk Ville).

The report also noticed that, even the number of tourists come to visit by flight is increasing, but the number of tourists come to visit by travelling on land is decreasing 1.2% in the 1^st 5months of 2016, in total 896, 822 in compare to the same duration in 2015 that get 907, 778.
