Phnom Penh ranked one of least liveable cities
The Economist Intelligence Unit released its annual global liveability ranking on Aug. 18—a report that ranks locations around the world based on the quality of their living conditions. Phnom Penh was ranked 127th out of 140 cities.
The Economist Intelligence Unit released its annual global liveability ranking on Aug. 18—a report that ranks locations around the world based on the quality of their living conditions.
Phnom Penh was ranked 127th out of 140 cities. The report is based on an index measured out of 100, and considers 30 different factors related to safety, health care, education, infrastructure and the environment.
Phnom Penh scored a 50.7 out of 100 due to the Kingdom’s widespread corruption, poor health care and lack of adequate infrastructure
The city's score has remained relatively unchanged on the liveability index—it was ranked 126th last year.
The top 10 was dominated by Australian and Canadian cities, with Melbourne, Australia taking the top spot. Damascus, Syria and Kiev, Ukraine have seen significant declines in the index due to the ongoing conflict within those countries.
