Phsar Art: A Creative Artistic Market Appeared in Phnom Penh

“Phsar Art Let’s Go!” is an event where artists from various ethnic backgrounds such as Cambodia, France, USA, Australia, Singapore, Korea, Lebanon and Malaysia, come together to showcase their art and put them up for sale.

The event was held on December 3rd from 1pm-6pm at a small place called “Neverland Art-space”, which was located in a small alleyway off of Norodom Blvd opposite of street 380. It was hosted by the artist from Malaysia, Syahrulfikiri Salleh.

Artists come together to showcase and sell their creative works of art for 5 hours at Phsar Art

Phnom Penh– “Phsar Art Let’s Go!” is an event where artists from various ethnic backgrounds such as Cambodia, France, USA, Australia, Singapore, Korea, Lebanon and Malaysia, come together to showcase their art and put them up for sale.

The event was held on December 3rd from 1pm-6pm at a small place called “Neverland Art-space”, which was located in a small alleyway off of Norodom Blvd opposite of street 380. It was hosted by the artist from Malaysia, Syahrulfikiri Salleh.

Artworks done by the heart of those creative artists create meaningful connection with the communities and one of which that is rarely seen in the market. Participants got to see original creative works done by various techniques from light painting photographs, handmade art-books, hand knotting jewelry and quirky illustrations. DIY workshops were held during the event for everyone to participate with their scheduled times accordingly for a fair amount of price which includes $5 of making Saddle Stitch Pamphlets, 10$ of making Dream Catchers, and 8$ of making live X’mas portraits.

Saddle Stitch Pamphlets made by Chelsea Middendorf (USA), uses bookbinding techniques of saddle stitching and tools used such as carved needles and awls. Dream catchers made by Sarah Marcni (France), are Native American talismans that protects sleepers from unwanted Nightmares and offers them good dreams as well as guarding owners from negative energies and auras.
