Porridge in Pol Pot Regime Shows Up Again in 2017
Later this month, a new restaurant called “Pol Pot Porridge” catches the internet by storm.
Recently, a new restaurant called ” Pol Pot Porridge ” is opened to the public for the first time. As you enter the restaurant, they will serve you two different porridges. The first one is the Pol Pot Porridge, a watery bowl of nothing but 5-6 pieces of rice and a little salt. This first porridge is a reminder of the hard reality during Pol Pot regime.

Recently, a new restaurant called ” Pol Pot Porridge ” is opened to the public for the first time. As you enter the restaurant, they will serve you two different porridge. The first one is the Pol Pot Porridge, a watery bowl of nothing but 5-6 pieces of rice and a little salt. This first porridge is a reminder of the hard reality during Pol Pot regime.
However, as you finish the first porridge, they will serve you another bowl which is known as a fish porridge. It is the restaurant’s special porridge with fish all the way from Steung Treng province and natural vegetables. And, it is tasty, according to one netizen who went to the restaurant.
This is a flashback into the cruel past of Cambodian people. As you might have known, an estimate of 1.5 million people living in Cambodia were killed and many starved to death during the brutal regime of Khmer Rouge. This period of time from 1975-1979 was supposed to be the cruelest thing that had ever happened in Cambodia history.
The restaurant locates in Siem Reap province and many people are curious to taste this porridge.
