Sihanoukville Airport to Be The Largest International Airport in Cambodia
Established in the 1960s with assistance of the Soviet Union, and located 20km east of Sihanoukville, Sihanoukville International Airport is Cambodia’s 3rd largest international airport, however it will become the largest international airport in Cambodia.
Once known as Kang Keng Airport, Verified by the Director of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, Sin Chansereyvutha, says that, “This may be the case in the next 10 to 15 years to which I see the rapid economic increase in the region. The key to this economic growth lies in the sectors of real estates, business, industry transportation and tourism, and the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port also serves an important role”.

Sihanoukville is known to be visited for its beautiful beaches and for oceanic retreat purposes, however with the ever-increasing economical statuses, the city is due to be more developed in the future in which it will generate more income.
For the moment, local and international flights include Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City, Macau, Kunming, Seoul-Incheon, Chengdu, Wuhan, Wuxi and Tianjin however the number flights are due to increase in the next decade.
