As the rain season comes, people tend to be worried and absolutely hate the thought of catching a flu, or fear of thunder and lightning strikes.
Although it is almost impossible to prevent from having a cold, or to get rid of those terrifying thunder and lightning, here are a few tips that are somehow beneficial to some extends:
1. If you got caught up in a downpour, drenching from head to toes because of the rain, hopping into shower once you’ve arrived home would be one of the best ways to avoid getting a cold. Because the rain outside is relatively cold, by taking a shower, especially with warm water it will help to balance and stabilize your body temperature.
2. Not in the mood for a shower immediately after getting home? Another recommendation would be having some hot drinks or soup, as it can provide warmth to tolerate with the chills you got from getting soaked in the rain. How about having some hot chocolate? Or chicken soup?
3. A friendly reminder to everyone that, if rainy season is coming, then beware of the common diseases such as dengue fever and Make sure to empty and clean thoroughly all the unused cans, flower pots, or containers around the house, to eliminate all breeding grounds for mosquitoes, bacteria, and parasites.
4. Another thing to keep in mind is remember to always stay away from tall trees and electricity poles during rainstorm, as they are the potential targets for lightning strikes. If you are inside of the house, unplug all the electrical equipment or devices and stay away from windows, and metal doors.
5. To protect yourself during heavy rain and thunderstorm, it is best to avoid swimming as it can be life-threatening. Raindrops alone are not harmful to swimmers, but water conducts electricity, thus, lightning can randomly strike the water, in which will kill or injure those who swim.
Don’t forget to check the weather forecast regularly to avoid from getting soaked in the rain!
