Toul Sleng Genocide Museum Has Now banned Pokémon Players to Enter

Phnom Penh- Recently, there is too much controversial over the case that many young adults come to one of history museum in Phnom Penh called “Toul Sleng Genocide Museum” for catching cartoon monsters in the well-known game “Pokémon Go”, now the place has issued a prohibition to visitors who come for their game.

Toul Sleng Museum is not welcome visitor come to play Pokémon Game. Recently, a few local international news try to release the information of playing Pokémon Game in Tould Sleng. We would like to inform that the museum is banned visitors from playing Pokémon Game in side of the museum. This is the sad place therefore the Game Company should not include this site in their spots Toul Sleng appeals for the Game Company of Pokémon Go to exclude this site in their spot game, according to a statement posted on Toul Sleng Genocide Museum Facebook page.

However, after this statement was released, there are too many netizens comment and express their ideas which some support and some seems not support the idea of banning visitor from playing game in the site. Some netizens said that, “There are too many places for catching cartoon monsters besides that history museum such as River Side or Koh Pich. So in the name of Khmer people, we should know which place is for fun and which place is for respect”.

In other hand, some netizens also state that, “the game makes people travel a lot. They put this place cuz mayb people will come and visit there. Example: since I’m Cambodian but I haven’t been there before. After I know there has man Pokémon so I just go and visit. My goal was game but when I was there just visited some parts of there too”.

Anyway, there are many Cambodian people support the idea of banning visitor who comes to Toul Sleng Genocide Museum in order to catch a cartoon monster for the Pokémon game.
