Tropeng Preurs, The Hidden Temple Locates in Prey Lang Area

Kompong Thom: Tropeng Preurs is an ancient temple hidden in the thick forest with history, which loctes in the Prey Lang Area at the boundaries of Kompong Thom and Kratie Province, in Troyorng Village, Sokhachet Commune, Sondann District, Kompong Thom Province, 36 kilometers to west of Sambo District, Kratie.

H.E. Say Sam Al, the minister of the Ministry of Environment, has conducted a mission to this temple on December 1^st, 2017 and stated that, “The preservationist should take actions to preserve the natural resources in Prey Lang Area including temples for future researches and the younger generation to know about our heritage and tourist site”.

Another ancient temple has been discovered recently

At the same time, the ministry also continues to reinforce the protection of natural resources as well as improve the lifestyle of local community through tourism.

In the area of this historical and cultural temple, there are 3 temples locate next to one another to the east and there is also a large pond, which is also called “Tropeng Preurs” which is 5 kilometers from Chi Mountain.

According to reports, it has been mentioned that this temple is built from base bricks and the foundation is made from the laterite to the northeast, which is now almost completely disintegrated and a part of the body of the temple was already broken down. This ancient temple is supposed to be built in the 8^th century with Kompong Preah architecture, which was the ending period of Chenla Era.
