The Uprising of New Music Genre for Upcoming 2017 Khmer New Year
The 2017 Khmer New Year is peaked of dance party genre from different Cambodian music productions.
As 2017 Khmer New Year is around the corner, Giant music productions in Cambodia have promoted more of Party dance music genre rather than the typical traditional dance music, which were released last few years.
Recently, many trendy dance party music, which are called as “Bek Sloy” by many Cambodians, are being promoted and released through social media especially Facebook and YouTube. In 2017, Music Productions seem to focus more on this genre because it is a new trend among Cambodian teenager. Those new trendy songs feature catchy lyric, fun dance move, and dance party genre.

However, despite being the trendy music taste, it also received a string of complaints and negative reactions. The critiques of these trendy music are from older people as well as netizens, who expressed the dissatisfy views with the uprising of this type of music.
