{Video} Another Khmer Song To Be Banned From TV and Radio
Town Production’s “Kru Bongrean Sroveng Sra” has been under controversy for quite a while after its release, and now the Ministry of Information has finally stepped in and made an announcement regarding this debated topic.
On December 20, 2017, the Ministry of Information has released a statement in regards to the banning of the song, “Kru Bongrean Sroveng Sra”, from playing on TV channels and on radios as well. According to the announcement, the Ministry stated that the meaning of the song, of which is singing about teachers drinking alcohol and getting drunk, is inappropriate and could harm the reputation, dignity, ethics and morality of teachers as a whole.

Therefore, the Ministry has decided to ban the song and has requested to all the radios and the TV stations to understand and cooperate as well.
“Kru Bongrean Sroveng Sra”, which means (A Drunk Teacher) in English, is a recent-released song by Town Production and sing by Jen Say Jai. While some people commented on how nice the song is, there are also some negative feedbacks on how offending the lyrics are.
