Video of A Father Punishing His Daughter Sparks Anger Among Netizens

Phnom Penh- A video of a father punishing his daughter has recently caught the attention of the Cambodian netizens.

Posted on April 12^th by a Facebook page, the video shows the daughter was being tied to the motorbike that was driving by the father. Right in the middle of the hot sunny day, the daughter was forced to run behind the moving motorbike, barefoot, as a punishment.

According to the post and the father’s words in the video, the girl was being punished because of stealing money.

Seeing such cruel action towards the little girl, the people who were there at the scene have tried to stop the father and calm him down. Although at the last part of the video, the girl was finally untied and hopped onto the motorbike with her father, it was still unknown whether the father will punish her again or not.

Some reactions from Cambodian netizens

Many netizens have shown anger and irritation upon seeing the video, saying that it is such an inhumane act and that there are better ways to teach and give advice to the girl for her wrong doings. However, minority of the netizens have also expressed that the action was somehow understandable as the father was probably feeling too angry, disappointed and tired from all the advice he gave but his daughter still not listen.
