Em Kun Thong, who is representing Cambodia in Miss Earth 2017, is currently in the Philippines to compete for the 2017 Miss Earth’s crown.
She has recently wowed everyone with her breathtaking, one-of-a-kind National Costume, in which she will be wearing it during the 2017 Miss Earth National Costume Competition on October 30th, 2017. The National Costume, almost entirely made from recycled materials, is designed and created by a group of young, talented, and hardworking fashion designers called La Chhouk Recycled & Creative Fashion.

So, what is the special meaning behind this National Costume? The National Costume apparently depicts a Bull (Kouprey), in which symbolizes modern Cambodia, with the title name of “Neang Ousaphy” (Queen of Kouprey), and it represents the glorious heritage and culture of Khmer people. Moreover, most parts of the National Costume are made from recycled materials such as disc, bottle cap, and sack, which make the Costume even more remarkable as its concept complements to Miss Earth’s objective in preserving the environment.
