{Video} “Young Movie Writer Champion 2017” Finally Found Its Winners
On the 11th of December, Rock Production held the award ceremony for its special tournament, “Young Movie Writer Champion 2017”, with the participation of many people including Cambodian celebs and those who relate in movie industry.
Started since early July, “Young Movie Writer Champion 2017”, has carefully trained and selected contestants, until they reach to the final round with 10 contestants. Those contestants received many special trainings to gain more knowledge and experience in order to adjust their skills for the competition.
Phnom Penh- On the 11th of December, Rock Production held the award ceremony for its special tournament, “Young Movie Writer Champion 2017”, with the participation of many people including Cambodian celebs and those who relate in movie industry.
Started since early July, “Young Movie Writer Champion 2017”, has carefully trained and selected contestants, until they reach to the final round with 10 contestants. Those contestants received many special trainings to gain more knowledge and experience in order to adjust their skills for the competition.
Finally, the tournament found its 5 winners among 10 contestants based on their amazing meaningful short films with great quality. The 5 winners received awards with big prize and other bonus, while the 1st winner is Phet Cha, a student from SETEC Institute, with his short film “3 months” that has received more than 100K views on YouTube.

Yim Sosathya, the Manager of the tournament, said, “There are many contestants joined this competition since the beginning, but after qualify rounds week after week, we finally found 5 winners. The winners are decided by their achievements, which focus on the meaning of the film, creative, technical, and also behavior during filmmaking process”.
“Moreover, there are some points to add more by receiving big number of View, Like, and Share for their short films on social media”, he added.
Importantly, those 5 winners are qualified to work with Rock Production to produce movies or feature-length films in order to help pushing up movie industry in Cambodia.
“Young Movie Writer Champion 2017” is a tournament to give a chance for budding Khmer flimmakers to showcase their talents and one of their scripts get turned into a feature-length film in Cambodia.
